Get a Competitive Loan Despite a Poor Credit
History
An increasing number of lenders
now offer secured and unsecured loans to people
with bad credit, CCJs, poor credit rating, the
self employed and people with other bad debts or
credit problems.
Simply use the form above to search an
extensive database of lenders and products,
including loans available to people with adverse
credit or click the appropriate button

If you're a mortgage payer / homeowner, you'll
find a reasonable choice of secured loan products
available at rates of interest not too much higher
than the headline rates offered to customers with
good credit. If you're a tenant or live with
parents the choice is less and the rates charged
will be higher, but there are small number of
lenders who offer unsecured loans to tenants.
The number of people who have been refused
a loan has risen in recent years as a greater
number of people have poor credit history. People with poor credit history
(also known as adverse credit history or bad
credit history) have experienced financial
difficulties in the past such as CCJs (County Court
Judgements), defaults on loan repayments, mortgage arrears or council tax
problems. These problems are often as a
consequence of divorce or redundancy.
Most loan decisions will be based on what the prospective lender knows about your credit
history and they will get this information from a credit reference
agency such as Experian and Equifax. A poor
credit history will equate to a poor credit rating
(also known as bad credit rating or low credit
score), and as a result many people with an
adverse credit past will be turned down for the
best rate loans.
However all is not lost. Whatever difficulties you
have have had in the past or whether it is simply a matter of having no credit
history there are a number of lenders specialising in
lending to people who don't fit in to the normal little boxes that most lenders try to
pigeon hole us into. So if you have experienced
credit problems in the past, don't despair: there are
loan lenders out there who may well still be able to assist
you, both homeowners and tenants.
